Hollywood wannabees, holidaymakers and businessmen flying into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will all be greeted by a choice of ground transport.
Buses, shuttles and taxis serve not only Los Angeles, but also many of the surrounding areas, such as Long Beach, Oxnard, Palm Springs, Pasadena, Riverside, Santa Ana and Santa Clarita. For a taste of the high-life, luxury limousines can also be arranged to transport you to your chosen destination in the Californian sun.
Buses
LAX International is served by many regular airport bus and shuttle vans, which travel all over southern California. Buses run all through the day and depart from car park Lot C - connected to the terminals by Shuttle C. Notable bus companies operating here include Culver City, Torrance Transit and Santa Monica Big Blue Bus. Passengers will find up-to-date bus information in the baggage claim area of each terminal building.
Shuttle Services
A free shuttle service is available, with pickup areas being located on the Lower / Arrival Level islands in front of each terminal building. The shuttle travel to the Metropolitan Transit Authority - Metro Green Line Light Rail's Aviation Station. For transfers between each terminal building, a further complimentary shuttle service is provided for passengers.
Taxi Cabs
Taxi ranks are based outside of the terminal buildings, at the arrivals area on the lower levels. LAX taxi cabs provide a convenient and easy way to travel into nearby Los Angeles, with this particular trip lasting around 40 minutes, while taxis travel into downtown Santa Monica (20 minutes), into Beverly Hills (30 minutes) and into Van Nuys (40 minutes), depending on traffic. Official Los Angeles Airport taxi cabs, displaying the official logo, should be used at all times. Passengers will be given a ticket details all of the average taxi fares for common routes, to ensure that you are charged fairly.
